Apples and Cherries

Apples and Cherries

by Laura A Collins (Notes) on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 9:10pm
Made apples and cherries tonight. Took apples slices (peeled) and frozen cherries. Threw a couple handfuls of each into a glass dish. sprinkled with sweetener, vanilla, and small drizzle of butter. Baked uncovered at 350 for 40 minutes. served hot with 1/2 tablespoon heavy cream. Was delicious. 5 apples and 30 or so cherries made 6 servings.

Cherry "Ice Cream"

about 2 cups Frozen cherries - kroger brand, dark sweet cherries, no other ingredients (this is about a whole bag)

1/4 cup honey (or other sweetener... or no sweetener at all)

1 cup cream (or 1/2 and 1/2 or milk, or milk substitute)

Put honey and cream in blender.  blend until completely mixed.  Add cherries while blending at high speed (or if you have a Ninja or Vitamix, put honey, cream, and then cherries all in the blender and pulse on high) until completely mixed.

Should be the consistency of soft serve ice cream.  Eat what you want and then freeze the rest in small serving sized containers for "italian ice" type desserts.
